THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT

The synonymous words to FORBIDDEN are prohibited, banned, debarred, ruled out, not allowed, disallowed, taboo, impermissible, not acceptable, unauthorized, unsanctioned.

As I was in the rest room this morning, the Lord told me to avoid at all cost anything called BETRAYAL in my marriage because it is the FORBIDDEN FRUIT and He reminded me of Adam and Eve that, it was because they betrayed God-they ate the forbidden fruit-that was why their lives were in chaos and their relationship with God shattered. Let us consider some of this deadly fruit…..

1.    Forbidden Fruit of Lie: beloveds! Why? Even the breath from your nostril cannot be trusted? Why is it difficult for you to be fruitful in your conservations? Why are you afraid be loyal? You should know that the more you lie, the more you falter your (vertical) God and (horizontal) human relationships. John 8:44

2.    Forbidden Fruit of Infidelity: I imagine what exactly is making a person to imbibe the attitude of promiscuity. To the best of my knowledge it animalistic and even eagle is exempted from this type of life style because an eagle sticks to an eagle even after death eagles do not remarry, he/she will stay single until death comes. So if bird has this unique nature, why do you void of dignity as a human created in God’s likeness? Acts 15:29

3.    Forbidden Fruit of faithlessness: At this juncture let me ask you this, why do you want to marry him/her or did you married when you knew you can’t trust him/her. For your information, “marriage MAY be necessary but not compulsory” so is your relationship with God, being a child of God is by choice under the grace of God not a compulsory decision. Heb. 11:6

4.    Forbidden Fruit of Pride: Marriage is all about oneness either is the husband or wife that is well-to-do in the family none of them should boast, in Acts 4:32 about the first Church they all had everything in common. You are who you are by the grace of God.  Proverbs 16 vss 18Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.19Better to live humbly with the poor than to share plunder with the proud.

5.    Forbidden Fruit of Idle Words: Idle words can be termed as blasphemy or chaos jokes. From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Your words portrait how you esteem your partner even God. Let your heart appreciate, honour, esteem, adore your spouse and eventually your mouth will speak graciously of him/her

Beloveds! The forbidden fruit is the fruit of knowledge of evil and good Genesis 2 ¹⁶ And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; ¹⁷ But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, FOR IN THE DAY THAT YOU EAT OF IT YOU SHALL SURELY DIE. The day you decide to encourage yourself to entertain these attitude and likes, your joy will be accompanied with sorrow, sweetness with bitterness, happiness with sadness. And how can you escape these? Guide and guard your heart diligently and jealously with the Words of God in Christian books, Gospel Tapes, Prayer, Hymns and songs, 24/7 fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit.

CHRISTMAS IN YOUR COURTSHIP

Beloveds, you have been celebrating Christmas for a quite longtime yet you have not seen it to be more than fun, adventure and merriment time. The birth of Jesus came into reality so that you can have a “marriage without misery”. Come with me to look into the lives of Mary and Joseph

1.       Joseph was a good man. Matt. 2:19. My dear brothers and sisters do you have any trace of goodness in you? What can people say about you in the community? Goodness is an aspect of fruit of the Spirit and you can only have this nature by living and walking in the Spirit. The bible also says “Je

sus……..going about doing good”, as you celebrate Christmas henceforth decide to doing good.

2.       Joseph did not want to disgrace her publicly. Matt.2:19. How has it been so convenient for to insult your spouse in the public? How often do you disregard his/her opinions and suggestions? Yes I am talking to you, because you do honour your spouse with your mouth but always disregard him/her in your heart yet you are celebrating Christmas. If your Christmas will be meaningful, you got to learn to put others first in all you do.

3.       Joseph could not disgrace her in the secret. Matt. 2:20-24. Religiosity brings no reformation except fanaticism. It is Christianity (Christ life or Christ likeness) that reforms. Your life inside and outside the church or fellowship must be the same. If you are a saint in the fold of brethren and satan at the outside, you are a “baseborn”. Why am I saying these? Joseph’s obedience to God’s Word made him not to secretly disgrace Mary. If you can listen to the instruction of Holy Spirit often there is no way you will disgrace your spouse even when the condition and situation is not palatable. May I make you realize that Joseph had option of denying Mary, but he made a God’s own choice even it was a dangerous one. Let Christmas make you obedient.

4.       Discipline against legitimate pleasure. Matt. 2:25. Joseph got every to sleep with Mary because if he was unable to impregnate Mary for the first time, at least he should be able to enjoy his wife sexually, but he discipline himself. You are a fire brand brother (prayer warrior and tongue talker) but you lack discipline in all manner of life, oh my sister in Christ (the prophetess of our time) but you are so loose in all aspect of life. Beloveds let Christ of Christmas make you discipline sexually, maritally, in speech, eating, in relationship and the likes-stop double-dating and cohabiting.

5.       Humility in distress. Luke 2:1-7. Mary exhibited humility, submission and perseverance; bible specifically explained her critical condition at that point in time in verse 6. Can you control your temper in the time of adversity? Journey to Bethlehem wasn’t a joke. Can you imagine the condition of Mary at this time but yet we could not find the record of her complaining, nagging and aggressive toward Joseph no wonder God-the-Father trusted her to be the conveyor of God-the-Son to this world of sin. Meekness will make you the channel miracles to your spouse  needs

Conclusion: let me give you a prayer point; LORD! By the power of resurrection of Jesus Christ I refuse to be all that I am as a result of negative parental, environmental and experience influence anymore in Jesus name. I want you to know that if all these attribute in Mary and Joseph is not in you, it is simply because you are permitting your negative upbringing and experience to still live in you. Give YOURSELF away and let the person of Christ bring you a new life in Him. Do not expect your spouse to give you the best; you are the one to make effort to give your best to him/her and reciprocally you will have his/her best.

^10-31 A good woman is hard to find,
    and worth far more than diamonds.
Her husband trusts her without reserve,
    and never has reason to regret it.
Never spiteful, she treats him generously
    all her life long.
She shops around for the best yarns and cottons,
    and enjoys knitting and sewing.
She’s like a trading ship that sails to faraway places
    and brings back exotic surprises.
She’s up before dawn, preparing breakfast
    for her family and organizing her day.
She looks over a field and buys it,
    then, with money she’s put aside, plants a garden.
First thing in the morning, she dresses for work,
    rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started.
She senses the worth of her work,
    is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.
She’s skilled in the crafts of home and hearth,
    diligent in homemaking.
She’s quick to assist anyone in need,
    reaches out to help the poor.
She doesn’t worry about her family when it snows;
    their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear.
She makes her own clothing,
    and dresses in colorful linens and silks.
Her husband is greatly respected
    when he deliberates with the city fathers.
She designs gowns and sells them,
    brings the sweaters she knits to the dress shops.
Her clothes are well-made and elegant,
    and she always faces tomorrow with a smile.
When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say,
    and she always says it kindly.
She keeps an eye on everyone in her household,
    and keeps them all busy and productive.
Her children respect and bless her;
    her husband joins in with words of praise:
“Many women have done wonderful things,
    but you’ve outclassed them all!”
Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades.
    The woman to be admired and praised
    is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.
Give her everything she deserves!
    Festoon her life with praises!

Being a Nigeria boy and proud to be African, isn’t that wonderful! What a privilege to be from this part of His wonderful creation, I shout for joy: I AM AN AFRICAN FROM NIGERIA SOIL, HALLELUJAH!!! What is this noise is all about? Hearing the history of my family I was told we were the family that held the position of “monk” of masquerade shrine in our community, but blessed be the name of the Lord who translated us from the lineage of idolatry into the kingdom of light-of His dear Son Jesus Christ-ages ago even before I was born, hallelujah! I see those masqueraders and idolaters today and I pity them: what a self inflicting punishment? They should have opportunity to ask my fore-father; why they repented?

The issue of mask is critical to most idolatry that is why I considered the worshipers cowards, even the devils are cowards that is why they attack mostly at night. The people who desired hiding their (physical) identity are cowards, pretentious and of low or no self-esteem, such people are threat to and in purpose driven relationships. Have ever wonder why many marriages are chaos today? It was because they were both clowned and are now ashamed, regretted and uncomfortable of each other originality-many covered sins, issues and secrets are blown open.

Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame Gen. 2:25 (NLT). Sometime ago you’ve been taken by your parents to an herbalist for spiritual consultation. You were initiated into occult to fortify yourself. You have a serious predicament in your family lineage which usually reoccurs. Today you may be attractive under those make-ups and packages of decorations, which make you, look “a beautiful clown!” Today you have impressed him/her with your captivating false story! Evil genius! An innocent guy, you told him “am still virgin” and you planned to plant fake-blood under the bedcover so that it’ll be busted to affirm your false virginity. What a good packaging of a millionaire daughter or son where as your parents are wretched and stinking poor. You knew that certificate in your hand is “Toronto certificate”-fake!

Come back home, beloved! You had a baby sometime ago-dead or alive-you kept the secret. What are your weaknesses which you are keeping as a secret, those sad occurrences you think you can never discuss them-they are horrible-it is your TOP LEVEL SECRET! My dearest! You have to discuss both shameful and glorious issues of your life, especially those inglorious ones before they (you past) start to paint you black.

Have you being parading yourself like masquerade at the sight of your spouse? You are who you, do not allow your past misconducts and/or persistent secrets destroy your present and future joy. Oh! I can hear your heart beats saying “he’s gonna leave me!” “She’ll love me no more!” Beloved! Let him know you in and out, give her the whole picture of who you are then you will know if he /she is really meant for you!

A masked life-style will turn to miserable destiny!!!
